Genesis Magma Racing have confirmed the allocation of their six race drivers for their maiden WEC Hypercar season.
The South Korean brand has a star-studded lineup, and reaches the final stages of testing before joining the World Championship grid in 2026.

#17 - Experience and rising talent
🇧🇷 P. Derani
🇨🇭A. Lotterer
🇫🇷 M. Jaubert
GMR have combined the biggest names in their squad with one of sportscar's rising stars.
WEC champ Lotterer and IMSA Champ Derani are undoubtedly the most experienced hands in the roster, and to some extent have been tasked with making the GMR-001 a competitive package from the off. But they will also be the reference as to just where the package is.
Jaubert will be placed in a high-pressure seat, but he might just have the outright talent to prove himself alongside two of this era’s brightest stars. And what an opportunity to be crafted into a world champion of the future.

#19 - A combative combination
🇫🇷 Paul-Loup Chatin
🇫🇷 Mathieu Jaminet
🇪🇸 Danie Juncadella
The #19’s lineup sizzles just at the sight, with an enticing combination with experience across the racing world.
Jaminet, reigning IMSA champion, is a proven hand at the wheel of LMDh machinery, not to mention very happy to get his elbows out - remember the GTD PRO battle at Daytona 2022?
Chatin, a three-time ELMS champion, and the only Hypercar race winner in the squad is a complete package. Juncadella has proved himself as a Prototype ace in ELMS LMP2 this year, and with over 100 DTM races and two full-season of WEC LMGT3, he’s definitely one to watch.

Jamie Chadwick was previously announced as the team's sole reserve driver, with the ELMS race-winner driving the new LMDh at multiple tests this year alongside her first season full-time in sportscars.
Gabriele Tarquini, two-time World Touring Car champion, Sporting Director for Genesis Magma Racing, explains how and why the lineups were assigned.
“The choice of drivers is crucial to the team's success. They need to be talented, fast of course, but you also need to choose drivers who work well together on and off-track.
"I think with our seven drivers we have a perfect balance of experience, youth and performance – each of which has its own advantages and it's up to us to combine all their personalities and characters to try to bring out the best in each of them."

"Experienced drivers are fundamental in developing a new car like our GMR-001 Hypercar, because they could immediately sense the car’s potential and quickly lead the team in the right direction.
“Once we had all our drivers for the 2026 season confirmed, deciding the line-ups for the two race cars became the most important decision for Cyril (Abiteboul) Justin (Taylor) and myself. We wanted the strongest balance of experience and youth in each line-up.
"So, for example, we have André and Pipo – our most experienced drivers – together with Mathys, who is our only driver who has never raced in the WEC before. In the other car we have a great mix of Hypercar and LMDh knowledge with Mathieu and Paul-Loup, and the endurance racing experience of Dani.
"We analysed each driver’s performance in the tests but also listened to the feedback they gave – and how they gave it. We also evaluated which drivers communicated and worked best together outside of the car, which you get to see in the quieter moments during testing and visits to the workshop."
GMR are expected to continue testing late into 2025, with the manufacturer making its FIA WEC debut at the Qatar 1812KM on the 28th March.
